ToneDen alternative: move your smart links, pre-saves and fans before December 1

ToneDen logo.Photo · ToneDen

ToneDen shuts down December 1, 2026. What BCKSTG covers, where it doesn't, and how to move your links, pre-saves and fan contacts in time.

BCKSTG writes this, and we're one of the options. Here's what ToneDen did, what goes away on December 1, 2026, and where BCKSTG does and doesn't cover it.

ToneDen shuts down its standalone platform on December 1, 2026. Every smart link stops working that day: FanLinks, pre-save links, TourLinks, EventLinks, PodLinks, StreamLinks, BigLinks and GiveLinks, custom domains included. Account data is deleted after November 30. Accounts connected to Eventbrite, which bought ToneDen in November 2020, keep working.

If you're a musician on standalone ToneDen, you need a new home for three things before then: your links, your fan contacts and your pre-saves.

What ToneDen did for artists

ToneDen was best known for two jobs. The first was smart links: one URL per release, show or campaign that sent fans to the right streaming service or ticket page. The second was ad automation, with Playbooks like Spotify Growth and Instagram Growth that ran and tuned Meta and Google ads for you.

Around those sat pre-saves, social unlocks, contests and a fan contact list built from everyone who clicked through.

Moving your ToneDen links

BCKSTG's release form takes a smart link. Paste a ToneDen link into it before December 1 and it pulls the title, artwork and streaming links and fills in the release for you. After December 1 those links stop resolving, so there's nothing left to import from. Once a release is in, clear the old ToneDen link from its pre-save field so fans land on the BCKSTG page.

Start with your Smart Links list in ToneDen. Rebuild your releases and shows on BCKSTG, then swap the old URLs everywhere they live: your bio links, your website, email signatures, live ads, email campaigns, and any QR code printed on posters or merch.

Moving your fans

Download your ToneDen data before November 30. The export includes fan contact information. Import those contacts into Guest List and they're ready for your next release email or text.

Fans who pre-saved an upcoming release through ToneDen are the ones most at risk. If a release lands after December 1, set up a new pre-save on BCKSTG now and send your existing list to it.

Where BCKSTG is not a ToneDen replacement

Automated ad Playbooks are the gap. ToneDen ran and tuned Spotify Growth and Instagram Growth campaigns for you. BCKSTG gives you the pixels and the audience export today, and the hands-on ad builder is in testing now and slated for Beta. If fully automated ad management was the main reason you paid for ToneDen, plan to run campaigns in Meta Ads Manager directly for now.

Also remember that ToneDen campaigns keep spending after December 1 until you pause them or set end dates in Meta Ads Manager or Google Ads.

What you get that ToneDen didn't do

ToneDen was a marketing layer. BCKSTG is built around the whole career: an EPK and press kit, Release Kit for editorial pitches and press releases, tour dates with MasterTour and Ticketmaster sync, Track Vault for sharing watermarked demos, streaming royalty analytics, paid content and Shopify merch. Your links and your fans end up in the same place as the rest of your work.

FAQ
