Pedro Capó released Fulanito on Friday, October 16, 2026, through Sony Music Latin. The album has eleven songs that move through danza, merengue, salsa, bolero and bomba, and it features iLe on "La danza del voto," according to EFE coverage published by Infobae.
The record follows Capó's move back to Puerto Rico after more than 20 years away. He explained that link to El Nuevo Día, which described the project as his most intimate to date and built on Puerto Rican rhythms rather than the pop sound that carried his earlier work.
The title and the cover
The name comes from "fulano de tal," the Spanish phrase for an anonymous everyman, roughly "so-and-so." Capó told El Nuevo Día that the faceless figure on the cover is that fulano. The idea is that the character could be anyone on the island, and by extension anyone listening.
That framing shapes the tracklist. Rather than settling on one genre, the album works through several forms tied to Puerto Rican musical history. Danza is the island's 19th-century ballroom tradition. Bomba is the Afro-Puerto Rican drum and dance form. Salsa, merengue and bolero fill out a set that treats those styles as shared material instead of period pieces.
Where the album sits in his career
Capó has built his career on pop and tropical-leaning radio songs, and Fulanito is a turn toward roots. The return home is the stated reason. After two decades away, he described the record as coming out of living on the island again, as reported by El Nuevo Día.
The guest slot goes to iLe on "La danza del voto." Her presence ties the project to another Puerto Rican artist known for working across traditional and contemporary forms, as noted in the El Heraldo report on the release.
