Release Credits and Collaborators

The release editor at Dashboard → Releases carries every credit on a release, from the featured artists down to the assistant engineer who tracked the room mic.

Two credit sections

  • Featured Credits are the artists, producers, and writers featured on the release itself. They render on the release card and inside the tracklist.
  • Additional Credits are everyone else in the studio. They render as a circle-avatar row on the public release popup. Fans tap a face to open a mini-profile.

Each credit is a Name + Role + Track row in the editor. The full studio role set is available: producer, vocal producer, mix engineer, master, A&R, composer, instrumentalist, vocal arranger, engineer, assistant engineer, programmer, and more.

Per-track credits (liner notes)

You can attach credits to specific tracks instead of the whole release. A guitarist who played on track 3 only shows up under track 3 in the fan-side liner notes. This is the same experience you get on the back of a vinyl sleeve.

To do it: open the track in the editor, scroll to Credits, add Name + Role for each person who worked on that track.

Avatars and mini-profiles

Every credited person renders as a circle avatar on the fan page (photo if they have a BCKSTG profile, monogram fallback if not). Tap an avatar and a mini-profile opens with their name, role, BCKSTG handle if claimed, and links to their other work.

If the same collaborator appears on multiple tracks, BCKSTG dedupes so they show as one avatar in the credit row with all their track roles listed in their mini-profile.

Auto-resolved profiles

If a collaborator's name matches an existing BCKSTG profile, the editor auto-links the credit to that profile. Their avatar, handle, and verified-badge state flow through automatically. No manual hookup needed.

Inviting a collaborator who is not on BCKSTG yet

For any credit that does not match an existing profile, the editor shows an Invite to BCKSTG card on their row. Send the invite and the collaborator gets a branded email with a claim link.

When they claim:

  • Their new profile is auto-linked to this credit
  • They get a 7-day Pro trial on the house
  • Their avatar replaces the monogram on your release page

Trial abuse guards apply. One trial per email per device. Invite expiry and rate limiting prevent the system from being gamed.

What fans see

On the public release popup, fans see:

  • The tracklist with BPM, Key, and Lyrics per track (when filled)
  • A circle-avatar row of every collaborator on the release
  • Tap any avatar to open the mini-profile
  • Per-track liner notes when fans tap into a specific track

This is the credit experience your release deserves. Use it.
