What it is (plain)

A press release is the formal one-page announcement you send to journalists, blogs, radio, and industry contacts when you have news worth covering. New single. New album. Tour announcement. Award. Signing. Anything you want written about.

It is written in the third person (journalists need to quote it), follows a specific format (headline, dateline, lede, body, boilerplate, contact), and ends with the standard "###" close. BCKSTG generates that whole format from your release details.

When to use it

When you are announcing something specific and want press, blogs, or DSP curators to write about it. Use Press Release for the "what just happened" announcement. Use One-Sheet for the "who I am in general" overview.
