Your home location
You set your home location during onboarding, country, region, and city. It looks like a simple profile field, but it's actually doing two specific jobs in the background.
Quiet Hours
Some of our automated emails to fans are time-sensitive (release-day announcements, tour reminders). We don't want them to land at 3am in your fans' time zone, so we hold them until a sane local hour for each fan.
Your home location anchors a few of those holding windows. The fan's own timezone (we figure that out from their geo at the moment they subscribe) controls the actual delivery time.
Tour radius routing
When you add a tour date, BCKSTG can email or text only the fans within a tour-radius of the city you're playing, instead of blasting your whole list. That radius routing uses geo too, and your home location is the seed value when you set up a tour from scratch (it picks a sensible default region).
Privacy
We don't show your home location on your public page. It's stored on your profile and used by the internal systems above. If you want, you can leave city blank and just set country, the routing degrades gracefully.
Changing it
Go to Dashboard → Profile and edit the location fields. The Quiet Hours and tour routing pick up the new value on the next send.
