Meet Roadie and Ava
Who it is for: Everyone with Backstage Guide access
Plan required: Guide tips follow existing access. Questions based on your account require a Pro or Lifetime plan. The question tool must also be available on your account.
Where to find it: Choose and manage your companion at Dashboard > Account (/dashboard/account). Your companion appears on supported dashboard pages.
Meet Roadie and Ava
Roadie and Ava are your Backstage Guides. They have the same BCKSTG companion capabilities with different character skins. Roadie is the default companion. Ava is available to everyone who can use Roadie.
Choose your companion
Go to Account Settings, find Backstage Guide, and choose the Roadie or Ava visual card. Your choice saves to your account and follows you across devices. Changing companions does not change your access, tips, or question tools.
How movement works
On desktop, your companion automatically roams through a safe area near the bottom of the page. On contextual pages, they may briefly visit relevant information before returning to that safe area. On quiet pages, they stay available without proactive movement or unsolicited tips. On focused pages where the helper could interfere, the guide stays hidden.
On mobile, your companion stays fixed in the bottom-right corner. When reduced motion is enabled, the companion stays fixed at every screen size.
Pause movement
Use the pause control to stop automatic movement for the current browser session. Pausing keeps your companion visible and does not close an open page tip or chat. Use the control again to resume movement.
Move them out of the way
Use X to minimize the full companion for the current browser session. Minimize always leaves a restore launcher in the corner, so you can bring Roadie or Ava back without visiting Account Settings. Choosing another skin restores the newly selected companion immediately.
Closing the X on a page tip is different. It closes only that page tip and keeps the full helper available.
Turn the guide off
Go to Account Settings at /dashboard/account and turn off the Backstage Guide switch to hide the helper across sessions. Turn it on again whenever you want Roadie or Ava nearby.
The guide switch and companion cards are separate. Turning the guide off does not erase your saved companion choice.
What you can ask
Ask about your own BCKSTG account. Roadie and Ava do not run a general web search or look up another artist's account, audience, revenue, or private details.
Connected BCKSTG sources can include Pulse, releases and distribution, AMP, tour dates, creator connections, audience totals, commerce, account setup, and Help Center articles. Source receipts include a freshness label. If a source is stale, disconnected, or unavailable, the answer identifies the partial data instead of filling the gap.
Roadie and Ava can offer safe links to BCKSTG dashboard pages. They never change settings, send messages, publish content, or spend money for you.
Account-aware journeys
Roadie and Ava are read-only. They can explain approved facts and open safe destinations, but they cannot perform autonomous account changes. Their guidance is filtered by your account type. Creator accounts do not receive artist release, Pulse, AMP, or tour guidance. Artist accounts do not receive creator-only source details.
When recent connected data shows an upcoming release, drop, stream, podcast, event, or tour date, the companion can ask what stage it is in or use its confirmed date to suggest the next readiness step. Items more than 30 days past their date are not proactively revived. If nothing recent is detected, the companion can ask whether something is still in progress or upcoming. Missing or stale data stays unknown.
Roadie and Ava recommend owned channels before paid promotion. They can point out landing pages, email or SMS capture, fan data collection, and Meta Business or Pixel readiness without assuming an ad is the answer. Paid promotion appears only when you explicitly ask for it or an active campaign needs operational attention. You do not need an ad budget to use the companion or get useful next steps.
Choosing no current activity starts a 30-day no-activity cooldown for that discovery prompt. If you engage with a stage but do not finish it, the companion can offer one reminder after seven days. An explicit question can bring an available path back at any time, so you can say you want to run an ad later or return to another plan when you are ready.
History and privacy
Conversation history for your account stays on the current device for 14 days. Use New chat to clear that history sooner.
BCKSTG keeps content-free interaction events for 30 days. These events record actions such as opening, pausing, dismissing, or choosing a companion. They do not contain questions or answers. Content-free interaction events are separate from existing operational Roadie question logs used for question limits and service cost tracking. The 30-day rule applies only to the content-free events.
Finance or commerce totals load only after an explicit question about your own account. Contracts and private team details are never loaded or surfaced. Fan contact details, message bodies, guest lists, crew details, credentials, and tokens are never surfaced to the companion.
