Connecting Spotify

BCKSTG connects to Spotify in two distinct ways:

Autofill (no login required)

During onboarding or within your dashboard, you can search for your artist name. The platform "pulls your releases, monthly listeners, and profile data using Spotify's public API."

Pre-saves (OAuth)

Your fans have the ability to pre-save upcoming releases directly from your fan page by connecting your Spotify account through OAuth in the Integrations section.

Important about pre-saves

Currently, Spotify pre-saves face limitations while BCKSTG pursues Extended Quota approval from Spotify. This restriction stems from Spotify's platform policies and app review process. If pre-save functionality isn't yet available on your page, fans who attempt to pre-save are still tracked-the platform sends them notifications via email and SMS (when opted in) upon your release's launch.

Latest release pull at signup

When you tap Use on a Spotify match during onboarding, we also fetch your most recent release (album or single), title, cover art, release date, and Spotify link, and seed it as a real, editable release on your dashboard. You don't have to do anything; it just shows up under Dashboard → Releases ready to share. If your most recent release isn't the one you want highlighted, edit or replace it from there.
